Cwm Bychan Aerial Ropeway

Date Visited: May 2014

A rarity - an aerial ropeway that has been out of use since the 1930's but is still standing. Well, its towers are, but all the ropes and cradles have gone.

The history is a bit unclear, but it appears they were built in about 1925 to take copper from a mine down the mountain to be processed and hauled away on what is now known as the Welsh Highland Railway.
